I thoroughly enjoyed having Commander Joe Levy from the Long Beach law Department come in & speak to our phase as one of our guest speakers this semester. He was a in truth funny, intelligent and charming man. I think the topics he address are real relevant to this course. He is extremely familiar and made the issues easy to twaddle to about. I think he is an excellent public speaker and his insight is invaluable. The twenty septette years he has served in the Police Force is admirable. I chip in met many Police Officers before and even though they were very nice and analyzemed to be good people, I desire how honest and straight forward Commander Levy was. He admits his faults and is honestly trying to make a difference in our world in an area that is difficult to address and talk about. Without him and countless others striving for the same goal, we will never see change in our world. He made the terms Stereotype, Prejudice, divergence and Oppression easy to understand and brought it home with examples you can denote to. The System of Advantage he spoke about is very real and is happening all around us.



Until all of us realize it and take action, nothing will ever change.
organism a parent to two children I dream of see change for them and their children as well. Its a very just concern of mine that hits home. I see it daily in my family, friends and acquaintances. I would be lying if I said I too was not a part of it. We all have a part in it. I try to instruct my children to not discriminate or be prejudice against anyone only we all have stereotypes and biases. I realized that even if it is a stereotype with a positive thought about psyche it is still a stereotype. As Commander Levy regurgitate it so well, I do not expect to potentially put anyone in a box.
